I know I'm playing devil's advocate here, but client.cfg is a Unix file and WordPad can edit those, even though (as you said) Notepad cannot.

There have been other posts mentioning the restrictions that (apparently) the UAE government places on internet access. You may be able to get the site unblocked, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think the asknet option doesn't appear if you configure the client to run as a service.

Asknet makes no sense when FAH installs itself as a service.

Asknet for the interactive console client ...

But seriously what do you mean? ...and what are we trying to hide?

I think the answer is here. The GPU client isn't really recommended on a 256MB board and it certainly will impact other software ...

and also a fresh copy of qdinfo.dat, and I get the same results.

I tried it on several machines and I still do not get the deb ...

It seems that you have a "localhost" issue.
The FAH SMP client is not doing anything because you have something else showing up if you issue this command:
[[email protected] ~]$ cat /etc/ ...
