I tried those, and both worked. However, the thread you posted put me on the right track. "ping 1id-mac" (my hostname) didn't work, so I added 1id-mac to my hosts file, pointing to 127.0.0.1 ...

99.9% of the time, Ctrl+C is the only thing you have to do to shut down the SMP client. The other 0.1%, you might have to stop one of the processes manually. I never had, but I've only completed 43 SM ...

You might double check to make sure that you did not inadvertently select "yes" to "Ask before fetching/sending work <no/yes> ".

This should be "no".

So in the folding blog today they mentioned a new SMP core that allows better integration with gromacs updates. Will we see this update soon, or will the new core come with v6?
